Welcome to sixth grade and welcome to Walsh Middle School.  My name is Mrs. Gloski and I am the math teacher for the 6Z team.  I look forward to working with your child as he/she begins a new educational journey.  I know it will be an exciting year.

1.       PENCILS (Work will not be accepted in pen.)

2.       A one-inch binder

3.       A package of dividers (5 tabs)

4.       A box of tissues (not required, but would be GREATLY appreciated)

Please have supplies in class by 8/31/15.  If you are unable to purchase these items, please have your child speak to me, as I have some supplies available.

Framingham 6th graders use material from a variety of sources and this material will be kept in the one-inch binder.  After each unit assessment and buy back, binders are cleaned out and important material may be stored in a folder kept in the classroom.  Some material can be recycled.

We will continue to use the IXL Math practice site to reinforce skills.  More information will follow.

The sixth grade curriculum is based on the principles of the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Mathematics which incorporates the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.  A copy of this will be handed out during the Open House (Wednesday, September 2, 2015).

This year, I will be assigning homework packets on Friday and the assignments will be due the following Friday.  This is my first time doing this and I hope it will be successful.  The first packet will be handed out on August 28th and will be due on September 4th.  This first packet will review topics covered in the fifth grade curriculum.

Term grades will be based on classwork (30%), homework (10%),and assessments (60%).

I have high expectations for this school year and hope you do as well.  I look forward to meeting you.  I can be contacted at
