Voila une architecture originale des magasins batis vers la fin des annees 50. Le magasin a conserve son architecture originale, malgre les changements de locataires durant 50 ans... Steinberg avait vu juste en s'installant dans ce parc de bungalows du quartier Pont-Viau pres du boulevard de la Concorde. Ce magasin de moyenne surface, ouvert en septembre 1960, allait pour plusieurs annees servir une clientele, sans pour autant avoir de "concurrents" pour des annees (plus tard un ancien Metro, au coin Concorde et Cousineau et un Steinberg plus geant aux anciennes Galeries Papineau plus tard) Cependant, le magasin trop vetuste rendit l'achalandage moins important que le nouveau magasin des Galeries Papineau. Il a ferme vers 1973. C'est un "Richelieu" qui a pris la place, puis ensuite les Marches Esposito avant de devenir Provigain/Provigo... Le magasin avait ete touche par l'incendie qui a detruit la partie nord du centre, mais la structure et l'architecture est demeuree intacte. Lorsqu'on a ouvert le supermarche Metro voisin, Provigo a ferme. C'est un autre locataire, bien connu, "Million Tapis et Tuiles" qui occupe l'espace... Et bravo a eux d'avoir conserve une structure originale des "Steinberg's" de banlieue...
