TRU Father's Day Promotion
TRU Father's Day Promotion
Real life has eaten into my moc'ing time lately, however TRU had a cool Father's Day promotion from 12-2 pm today. Lego had sent boxes of bricks, plates, and other elements to the my local store for kids to come in and build something to take home. No requirement other than being able to show up with a child. I'm sure most special elements were already taken before we arrived, but plenty of other things remained. Most kids and parents were building crazy multicolored starfighters, which was fairly surreal. I was focused, obviously, on piece count, and threw any sort of technique out the window. My daughter and I arrived about 20 min before it was over, and there were still plenty of pieces left to build with. We built this "house" together and took it home. I used my PaB tactics and filled part of the inside with bricks also. Overall, fun and free Lego was had by all. No representatives from Lego were there though. An employee asked us how many stories the house had, I said "3" and we quickly scurried away with our booty. XD There was also another promotion going on, where if you spent over $20 you got a Rebel Pilot pen and and some sort of Vader figure (magnet?), but we opted out of that one.
A Very Long Journey
A Very Long Journey
I always like to see this kind of perspective. Capturing it on camera is the next thing I would do. This 400 meters (1200 feet) long corridor is serving around 64 standard and superior rooms on both sides. This budget hotel was converted from an old colonial buildings, built in 1926, which used to be homes of government's servants. The 40 units double storey quarters were evacuated in the late 90's due to bad conditions and the making good, renovation and conservation was done by Penang Development Corporation (PDC), the property owner. By maintaining the strong concrete structure, the facade and some historical features, the building was redesigned to be a hotel, instead. It was known as 1926 Hotel earlier, but changed to The 1926 Heritage Hotel by the new management. It is located in Burmah Road, minutes away from the heart of Georgetown, Penang Island, Malaysia. Another promotion here.
