In 1945 the The Hotel Montecarlo was converted from a nineteenth-century palace into this 4-star hotel. It has a magnificent facade and elegant interior which reflects the rich past of the building. It has a total of 50 rooms. Before that, in the building's history, it served as the headquarters of Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona and housed two newspapers "Las Noticias" and "El Correo Catalan". Nice clean room. Strange padded fabric on the walls. Must be a dust collector and a fire hazard? Flat screen TV, refrigerator, air-condition, hair-dryer but the Wifi costed 15€ for 1 day so we didn't use it.
