Ed Wright attended high school at Saint Mary's of Berkeley (04’), where he was coached by Jeff Rogers. As a senior, he won the California state high jump title, the prestigious Golden West Invitational, and finished second at the USATF Junior Nationals, where he was named Verizon USATF Jr. All-American. Ed then went on to CAL where he was twice the Pac-10 Champion and an All-American both indoors and outdoors. He currently ranks 7th on the all-time CAL high-jump list with a personal best of 7’3½”. In both 2008 and 2012, Ed competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials... finishing as high as 5th in 2012.
