132/365 Burnt Out...
Hey All, I have been real lazy and haven't been outting descriptions on my photo's for a few days. Firstly im absolutely loving, Turkey, esspecially Ankara. Istanbul was awesome, but for me, this place takes the cake. I arrived in Ankara, monday afternoon, from there i was picked up and went straight to my suppliers wharehouse to take a look around there facility and have a quick chat, after that i booked into my hotel and Hayri, my contact at Nuve, took me out to dinner. it was a huge meal, i certainly couldn't finish it. After that he quickly showed me around, by the time i got back to my hotel it was 11 PM local time, so 4am perth time, i had a shower and got to sleep. That morning he picked me up a 8.30 too show me Anitkabir, google it, that was truly the greatest experience of my whole trip yet. After that, we ate lunch, the i did my own thing for the arvo. That night we met up with the two other gentleman that were joining the training. These gentleman distribute the instruments in Syria. The dinner was yet again, massive and buy the looks of the place really expensive, i may have dipped into one to many beers. All today we did the training, it was quite dissapointing, we only covered the basics due to the two other guys not knowing the product nor the instruments. Not to mention the language barrier. Hayri, speaks OK english and the two gents from Syria speak pretty average english. So most of the day was me trying to explain what certain instruments do and why, with my best hand movements and scribbles on the drawing board. I think i may actually know all the products better than Hayri, seems i was educating all three of them, esspecially when it came to the compititors on the market. Regardless its not what the trip was for :P holiday ofcourse haha So tonight i was buggered, i decided to spend it in the hotel. Although i didn't get in till 8 ish. Just me chilling watching some BBC news, flickring ofcourse and chatting to freinds. Canon 50D Canon 24-70L - I think it needs servicing, has trouble focusing below f/4.5 :( Canon 580EX II Strobist info: 580 bare left of camera directly infront of subject, triggered via cactus V4. (1963 on top, 1991 on bottom) Soldier, commuter and train conductor = tired. Reporter, judge and photographer = wired. Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, 1963 vs 1991 editions (with revisions). The 1963 edition is my own, bought for me in the late 60's when I was a toddler, and read to tatters. The 1991 edition belongs to my kids today. I was so familar with the older one that I immediately started noticing a few differences, and so have catalogued 10 of the more interesting differences here in this collection.
