Professional Background

I graduated from California State University Northridge with a B.A. in art, specializing in art education. I have currently returned to Cal State Northridge to obtain secondary education credentials and plan to teach high school art. I have also attended Universidad Rey Jaun Carlos as part of a study abroad program where I studied art history in Madrid, Spain.

Art has always been a passion of mine since I can remember. As I got older and was expected to start thinking about what I wanted to do when I got older, I began exploring different career paths that involved art. At one point I was very interested in graphic design but quickly realized that working with computers was not for me. One summer I got a job as an assistant art teacher at a summer art camp and fell in love! I have always been great with kids and always loved art, so naturally the two seemed to mesh well and that is how I figured out I wanted to teach art and wouldn't be happy doing anything else but!

Interests and Hobbies

Besides obviously being interested in art, I enjoy being outdoors! I love hiking, camping, spending the day at the beach and traveling! I love exploring new places and meeting new people. Those are a few of my favorite things but I am always up to try something new and am usually happy anywhere as long as I am in good company!
