Hello, my name is Franky Rueda I have an associate’s and a bachelor’s degrees. I graduated from Cleveland Grover High and then went to Pierce College for 2 years. While at Pierce I obtained an associate’s degree in general studies and then transferred over to CSUN to major in Kinesiology. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in the spring of 2012. I have been working for an after school program for about five years now and three of those years I was a sports coach teaching students about various sports. My job consisted of running sports camps, interleague play between kids, practicing and preparing kids for tournaments. Now I’m a site coordinator for the after school program YS plus at Sutter middle school. My job is to facilitate, supervise, advertise, manage, but most of all run a successful program. The reason I chose this job was because I enjoy working with kids and it’s a great way to start of my career by getting the experience I need to deal with students.

I became interested in teaching while working with the after school program at Sutter middle school. While being a sports coach for the program I would enjoy coaching the kids and practicing with them trying to help them get better. I would collaborate with P.E. teachers on site and got very interested in that field. I figured what better way to continue helping these students improve in athletics then to become a physical educator. As I began to take classes at CSUN I got a better understanding of what it meant to be a physical educator because my goal is to educate students on the importance of physical activity and give them the tools they need to continue to live a healthy and active life.
