I was born in Ensenada Baja California, Mexico (see map below) and moved to the United States at the age of 6 years old.  My family and I lived in Los Angeles, California for about two years and decided to move to Lamont, Ca (see map below) which is located about 30 minutes from Bakersfield, California.  I graduated from Arvin High School in 2000 and decided to come back to Los A ngeles and attend college at California State University Northridge (CSUN).

In 7th grade I realized I really liked math and enjoyed working with students.  As I entered high school I started to volunteer my summers to assist math teachers in their classrooms and began to tutor students from K-10 on my own at my local library.  At CSUN I would look for jobs that related to working with students such as Student Services, University Amabassador, Teacher Assistant (various high schools in the San Fernando Valley) and College Recruiter (Intern) for CSUN.  My Senior year at CSUN many afterschool programs were eliminated or suspended until further notice  due to budget cuts and soon teachers were being laid off or schools were no longer highering as much as before.  Automatically, I became scared and started to look for jobs whereever I could find during my Senior year and this is how I found Enterprise Rent-A-Car (ERAC).  My last semester at CSUN I started as an Accounts Payable clerk with ERAC and soon joined the Accounting Internship.  I spent 5 years with the company until I decided that besides dealing with numbers the best part I enjoyed from being an Accountant was when I was teaching managers how to manage their expenses and when I trained our new accountants on certain accounts.
As soon as I left the accounting position it wasn't long until a position opened up and I could teach Math.  I am currently teaching 8th grade Algebra at Nueva Esperanza Charter Academy (NECA) and I am lucky that my classroom size is only 25 to 27 students per class.

Interests and Hobbies

On my free time I do enjoy watching sports whether its live or on television.  My favorite sports teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers , the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Francisco 49ers.  Going to the beach is another one of my interests either to hang out with my friends and family, read a book,  or take my dog, Dodger, to the beach.  I also enjoy hiking in Griffith Park, Runyon Canyon Runyon Canyon and other locations that will allow dogs.
