We met in the studio tonight for studio class. The equipment in there scares me so much. We’re not talking dinky light stands and flashes like I use right now. The fact that this is HEAVY DUTY stuff doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to get better things than I am now because frankly I don’t want to touch this stuff lol. I don’t realty know exactly what I’m doing a lot of the time when it comes to technical stuff… I just make images…period...try things until I like it.I come into this class with some basic knowledge and I’m freaking out.. dunno how other people aren’t. We got our first assignment which is a simple object on a seamless background using 3 different lighting techniques demonstrated in the studio. I have to drop a class soon and I’m having trouble deciding which. It’s between stress management and emotional health. If you know me in the slightest then you’ve established that I worry a lot and blow things out of proportion. My head works in strange ways. I’m somewhat perfectionisticlike in my own little way. Certainly not everything I do is perfect but if it’s outside of my little bubble it causes me to go haywire. Even the smallest things border on the edge of panic attacks for me. I’m always in the state of “what am I going to do, how am I going to do it, when am I going to do it.? “What if this and that happens when I do that and what will happen after that.” Well, obviously the world will explode. Lol. Yeah I can laugh about it in writing but I don’t like the toll it takes on my physically and emotionally. I wish there was something I could do to bring myself down a level or two…but then that might take away some good things. I don’t know. I’m freaking out that I just might not be able to make my own valentines card…you know like I’ve done for a birthday and Christmas… Who knows if I’ll have the time and so far I don’t have a good enough idea… SEE SEE I’m freaking the eff out about this and I know the world won’t end. I swear they will name a disorder after me before my time is done. Is University REALLY REALLY good for me I mean REALLY I’m going to drive myself through a wall. You’ve probably got a pretty vivid picture of me right now but I actually look quite calm and normal. They finaly put some work up in the halls from my b&w class. Maybe some people will notice me.. I mean it’s hard not to! lol My Internet is freaking terrible here lately. It’s crawling disappointed face. I’ve been trying to skim through some of the movies on netflix on demand to start narrowing down what movie I want to recreate scenes from for one of our big color projects (again this isn’t due till later). It’s just really not possible with my connection right now. Mind you, I’ve seen most of the movies on the list but I want to go through some of them again. Here is the list if anyone has any input. Choice of Movies by Director NO action scenes! NO Guns! NO Gratituous Sex Scenes! 1. Amelie dir by Jean-Pierre Jeunet 2. Delicatessen dir by Jean-Pierre Jeunet 3. 1- Garmin Etrex with Delorme topo map uploaded. Really nice, but limited capacity- can only load about 1/4 of the state of Ohio, loads through an obsolete parallel port on old computers. grrr 2-grip warmer switch. nice on cold and/or rainy days 3- Lowes Micro trekker 200 4- floppy Wolfman tank bag. Covered by camera bag, but roomy and easy to remove when fueling. Clear top is nice 5- cylinder, where I hit my knee and my head (both, but not at same time) when changing oil 6-cool new over the glasses shades (with padded frames) for old people 7- stylish new glasses (coincidently, also for an old person) 8-big white long sleeve T, gift from X, works well under Aerostich. It was so hot I packed both the shirt and the "Sitch" (jacket) and rode pirate in a t-shirt. 9-bars made from aluminum chair frame to keep Ortlieb (soft) bags from hitting wheel or pipe. 10- Big Lots water bottle. worthless for keeping water cold. 11-throttle lock/cruise control thing. Came with the bike. Impossible to set, works poorly, and is a pain. I never use it. 12- nasty old dirt bike gloves. Could not find my clean dirt bike gloves. 13- (not shown...) Austrian gear/duffle bag. German and Austrian gear is usually heavy duty, this zips the long way, and a velcroed tab over the zipper, and is big enough for a tent, a sleeping bag, and a camera bag. 14- also not numbered- the blue roll on the back- is a Frog Togg rainsuit. Made out of a colored Tyvek (yes, the stuff on your new house) works well , breathes a little. No rainsuit breathes well, not even Gore-Tex. So its either get soaked from the rain, or suit up and be soaked on the inside from perspiration. Anyone who wants to argue the point is granted a free guided ride in the rain for scientific purposes. No water hose testing... we'll hit the road in the rain.
