This image: Shot in the back garden. Used for our homemade 2010 calendar. Camera - Pentax ist DS dslr + manual focus M42 screwmount lens. Note: If this image contains the month/dates panel, All moon phases are for the U.K., as are most of the public holidays and notable dates. The hard-copy calendar itself consists of images printed on A4 glossy photo paper for inkjet printers using an EPSON Stylus Color 740 printer. The month/date panels are printed on normal printer paper, all in landscape format. A comb binder is used to cut comb binder holes at the correct edges and the sheets bound together using the comb-binder to produce something similar to the standard monthly flip-up calendar. To hang from a wall hook/nail, a single hole is punched using a single-hole puncher in the appropriate place on each sheet. For uploading to Flickr, I have combined the image panels and month panels together to ensure it makes sense to viewers. Project history: This was my wife kathy's project for the coming New Year: 1. She makes 1 floral arrangement during each month this past year using flora available from our garden in the particular months. For months that we forgot about or missed doing a floral arrangement shot, I have used other photos I have shot in the garden, appropriate to the calendar month. 2. I take the shots and with the 12 images make a 2010 calendar for our kitchen (we usually buy). This would also involve putting in calendar events of choice e.g. marking moon phase dates and public holidays. 3. If they turn out OK, to print replicates and give as presents to family and friends.
