This was not the arrangement I remember. Where the cabinet is was a couch and two tables at the end where Rob and I did schoolwork. Hmm... Mom: There was probably a couch there once - I remember the McComb girls having a tussle on that couch once. This was how it was fixed up the last 6 months or more, after the house was finally finished to sell. I loved that house - really hated to move! Me: yes, don't you remember, it was sort of a light greenish couch and there were two little end tables at each end with a lamp on each (i think)...Rob sat at the end on the left, towards the kitchen, and I had the end towards the front of the house, with the window on my right...we did homework there for years...i don't know how we sat so long because we had to sit on the end of the couch with no back in other words...but we could always turn around and sit with a back, but not when we were working on our tables. Remember the black widow fights we had on the dining table, prodding them with tinker toys to get them back in their jars? for a long time that table didn't have a cloth...it was just the cherry wood. nice table...i know, from you grandmother along with the hutch, right?
Living Room before and after
Our living room had yucky white carpet when we bought the house and I knew that I wanted a pretty laminate flooring throughout the entire bottom floor. It was fun to paint the walls and not have to worry about splattering on that ugly carpet because it was getting ripped out. The walls were painted "Warm Muffin", which is a golden yellow warm color and our flooring is similar to a Brazilian Cherry Wood color...love the contrast! We celebrated our first new house by getting a brown leather couch with matching chair...studs and all...we're so happy with it and feel all grown up! The chandelier was a steal on the clearance rack and the rugs were also purchased at a bargain. The look of luxury without the hefty pricetag...now that's what I'm talking about! Tom and I often sit on our new couch after the boys go to sleep and marvel at the fact that we're now home-owners and that this beautiful place is ours! Someone pinch me!
