The North East Essex Section rides are loosely centred on Colchester and visit places in Essex and Suffolk.  We meet for elevens' at a different venue each week and ride as a group to the various lunch stops, after which a ride to tea is scheduled during the months of British Summer Time.

In the winter months tea stops are not scheduled but arranged on the day and depend upon the weather and suitability to the members present. New members are always made welcome and the pace of the ride is controlled to that of the slowest member present. When a rider lags behind due to being dropped for any reason, a stop the whole group slows down or stops at a convenient place to allow them to re-join; we have rarely left anybody behind!

Our rides are of a very social nature and the leaders avoid main roads and busy roads as much as possible so that quiet lanes and the countryside can be enjoyed.  Sometimes there is a 'culture stop' during the ride to look at and appreciate a building or place of historical or other interest. If you feel that you would like to try a ride with the North East Essex Section, you are warmly invited to meet us on the day at the appointed meeting place.  For more details see our Tuesday rides list or phone the Secretary.
