My primary (remote/wireless) strobist setup consists of: 2 sb-600 nikon flash units 2 pocketwizard plus II units 1 pocketwizard multimax 1 nikon d300 The sb600's don't have PC cable ports on them, which means if I want to actuate them remotely I have to use a pc to hotshoe adapter. These were the only ones I could find in town but they werent manufactured to do PC to hotshoe, they were manufactured to basically fit in the hotshoe on top of the camera, and port that out to pc for input elsewhere (I'm guessing). So I had to dissassemble them, drill a hole in the top of the aluminum hotshoe itself, down through the plastic into the assembly of the units so that I could solder leads onto the inner connector. The top of the hotshoe was completely flat with no other connections or leads whatsoever. The sb600's are fired when the 'center nipple' lead and the base are shorted - this is what the pocketwizard would do for me if the end of the pc cable actually MET THE LEADS on the flash unit. The adapters were stupid, so I un-stupided them. It was UGLY, but they both work! :D

After over half a year of very intensive usage the Apple Wireless Bluetooth Mouse has empty batteries for the first time. It is fascinating.
