The three skinny bikers (Bob, Rich & Pete) tour of Vietnam will kick off at the end of January 2010. Hanoi to Saigon via a few towns, villages, bars and 1850km of the Ho Chi Minh Highway. The plan is to all meet in Hanoi on the 29th January, spend a few days enjoying the capital city of Vietnam then start riding on Monday 1st February. The first stage is a loop around NW Vietnam taking in Mau Chau, Cuc Phuong National Park and Ninh Binh before taking the train to Dong Ha.

From Dong Ha we take the coast road for a short ride to Hue then over the Hai Van Pass to Da Nang & Hoi An. From Hoi An we head inland on to the HCM Highway heading south to Dalat and finally Saigon. An estimated total distance of over 2000 km.

This trip was conceived a long long time ago (sometime during 2008) when Bob & Rich were working on the Reliance project in Visakahpatnam in India. Bob sugested a walk in the bush, Richard countered with a short bike ride in Thailand and in the end we settled for a rather long tour of Vietnam. Pete joined us in September 2009 after a couple of beers during Jackie's birthday party.
The ride is over, Bob is back in Perth; Pete is in plymouth and Rich is home in Spain. We shall continue to update the website and hope to have it finalised by end of March. To put our ride in perspective check what a couple of Swedes are doing - one in a wheelchair - on the Inclusion Tour 2010.
