This is the russebil of me and four fellow "nerds". If you don't know what russ is, it's the norwegian way of celebrating the end of 13 years of school (now you only need like 5 more years of education, doh.). Anyway lots of peaople do crazy stuff, including the making and usage of cheap old (big) cars painted (usually red or blue) with household paint. This is our version of it. This is a fully functional 1/10 scale RC-car, with forward, brake and revers and steering. It is based upon a bone stock tamiya gravel hound (DF-02 chassis), and runns off a 6-cell 7.2V Ni-Mh battery. Topspeed without the mods is nearly 30km/h. The speakers mounted in the back are not only for show, but are actually fully functional producing 2W each, and running from a batterypack soldereded from 3AA batteries. The boddy is made by parma. It is designed for T/E-Maxx, and made from .050 Lexan. To make it fit we used some metal tubing that was taped to the original bodymounts with tape and nylon bands, they held upp pretty well until the last day. The windows was masked with the precut mascing tape and sprayed with red lexan paint (on the iside). The shots were taken in my home "studio" (made from paper and normal furiture). I had some natural sunlight from the left, a halogen reading light on the left and right at 45 degredes up and to the side, and a incandecent lightbulb with a blue paper reflector behind it, and my speedlite at low power mounted on camera, and bounced of a white sheet of paper.
005 - Hot and Drunk
005 - Hot and Drunk
Work wasn't so bad, it was payday, and I was in the right location for payday Chinese food. It was really good, even though while eating it I discovered one of my teeth broke. I still don't have dental insurance, and I can't afford another freaking root canal. Ugh. After work I stopped at the bank (I haven't gotten my new debit card in the mail yet) and got some money out. Justin and I decided we were going to go to happy hour (at one of my favorite places, $2 frozen cosmos!). Halfway there I realized I'd left my ID in my bookbag after taking it out of my purse at the bank. We continued on instead of turning back because I've gotten away with not having it there before. Of course, this time I did not. I was so freaking mad. We left there and went back home and got my ID, but by that time, it was really close to the end of happy hour, and the drive back is too trafficky. So we went to a place closer to home. Cheap food, and as we found out later, really expensive drinks. But I got pretty drunk. Went home, grabbed one of these out of the fridge, and started taking pictures. Held it to my head because it was hot as crap in our apartment. Shortly after finishing this drink, I started feeling super crappy. Took a cold bath and read my book. Justin fell asleep watching TV on the living room floor.
