Congratulations to all the students selected for participation in the Third Qualinet Summer School!

If you have been selected for participation, please register via the Registration page no later than Wednesday June 25th, 2014.
Information on the composition of the groups will be provided shortly after that date.

The goal of the 3rd Qualinet Summer School on “Statistical and learning methods for reliable assessment of Quality of Experience” is to provide participants with expertise, algorithmic knowledge, and computational tools on best practices for reliable collection of subjective and objective Quality of Experience data.

Researching in Quality of Experience implies dealing with observed data, either collected from users or through simulations and models. This data typically presents some degree of noise and observation uncertainty, and may lack in reliability if not properly screened and processed. The 3rd Qualinet Summer School will provide participants with an overview of statistical methods for the analysis of subjective and objective QoE data, and will review data mining and machine learning methods that can help in understanding these data better, notably towards the construction of more reliable QoE models.

The Summer School will take place in Nantes, France, on August 25-28, 2014, and will cover the following topics.

  • Methodologies for subjective QoE assessment and user testing

  • Statistical analysis methods for empirical research

  • Multivariate analysis

  • Verification and Validation of objective QoE assessment models and algorithms

  • Data mining and machine learning

  • Software tools for data analysis (e.g., R, WEKA)
