This site has been created under the assumption that there are others out there in the great wide world that would like some simple projects to get them started in robotics. There are a great many sites on the web that one can use as resources to get started in robotics, however, I have noticed that the majority of these sites assume some degree of prior knowledge of either C programming and/or microcontrollers.
Over the course of the past few years I have played around with most of the popular microcontrollers that have been adopted by hobbyist and educational institutions including the BASIC Stamp, the C-Stamp, the Arduino family and most recently the Pololu Atmel based Orangutan.
This site is to be used to post my work using the 3Pi Pololu robot with the Arduino IDE.
The projects are all written in the Arduino IDE that has been configured to interface with the Pololu 3Pi. The details on how to implement these relatively simple and straightforward modifications are documented in Programming Orangutans and the 3pi Robot from the Arduino Environment which is located under the resources tab on the Pololu site.
The projects are intended to introduce the novice user to all the components on the 3Pi and how they are programmed in the Arduino IDE.
Each project builds on the one before it and comments within the programs are used to provide background information when new items are introduced.
To use the programs either cut and past them into your editor. For those using the Arduino IDE, zipped folders containing the programs are available for download on the bottom of each project page.
To ask questions and leave comments you can visit the forum 3Pi Projects Google Group.
