Ryan is a Computer Science Major at Keene State University. I stayed with him for one night on the third day of my trip. I arrived in Keene about 3 hours before he was ready to host me so I meandered about town taking some random pictures and just overall enjoying the town in which I was going to stay. I passed a guy in full green body suit with a red sox hat on. I of course made sure I took a picture and then gave him a hell yeah and a high five. You know starndard issue green guy stuff. I also learned that Keene is where the movie Jumanji was filmed so I suppose thats pretty exciting. After spending some time at the library and playing guitar in front of my car it was time to meet up with Ryan. I drove down into a cul-de-sac to meet him so that I could get a parking pass. It was assumed that I would have to pay 4 dollars but apparently I was to park free of charge. I then met his one roomate though he left almost immediately for the weekend. We were to go to the grocery store but had to wait for roommate three of 4 to come (Kyle) home so we sat about and talked. He told me about growing up in Maine, Gifford Ice Cream, all the local beer I should imbibe, and many other stories and sundries. We watched a south park episode which was nice and then Kyle came back. We got some mushrooms and Kyle got a microwave dinner and we went back and made some chicken marsala in his do-it-all cast iron skillet. It was actually quite good. From there we went to the main event. Video Games. Hours and Hours of video games. I like them just as much as the next guy but you get a bunch of CS majors together and its an event. From 11pm till 5am we played non-stop. Around 3am I was getting a bit tired and was gonna say something but they were no where near getting ready to end. So I just went along with them and at 5:15 I could stands it no longer and had to say something. So I passed out on my sleeping pad. I woke up 4 hours before anyone else did in the house. So I did what I thought I should do and cleaned their place. Bathroom and kitchen mostly. I took some random pictures but I just didnt want to leave without saying good bye and all of that so I stayed. They got up at 3 in the afternoon and made me eggs and set me off. Away I went on my way to Warner NH for the Fall Foliage Festival.

My Patrick...standing at Cape Neddick, Maine, overlooking the Nubble Light. This was from Patrick's visit to NH (and the general area) over Memorial Day Weekend. I was sick. He was tired. But we still managed to cram plenty in! I am all excited about the latest roll I got back today from my Holga, my second try, and I actually have a few neat things I'll be posting soon. I scanned them all and worked them up already I was so giddy to get back my film. I will be giving up entirely on sending it out and will be developing my own soon. I just don't have patience to wait to get film back anymore... What you can't see here is that Patrick was taking photos a short while earlier, and had seaweed and sea scum all over his back pocket. The two of us were in hysterics over it at the car, because it didn't look so good... My real excitement over medium format and a return to film is that I'm buying a Mamiya 67, lens, a back, and waist finder off a guy a the local photo store for a fair price. I am thinking of modifying my little Holga into a pinhole, and using the Mamiya for everything else. So what if it's 8 pounds?
