A small strainer turned into a tiny "Star Gate". I used a three flash set up (SB800's), each had a gridded snoot (two black straws, one choroplast). See Set up photo. Camera was a Nikon D70 with 17-55 lens set at 1/60 and f 7.1. The tripod shows camera position and level. Flashes were shot manually via SU800. Flash A is on the floor aimed up at the mesh with a blue gel and set at 1/1. Flash B is on the table, aimed at the head of the strainer, and set at 1/16. Flash C is on the small stand at tripod feet. It is aimed at the handle and set at 1/16. I first tried other more global methods to light the handle and frame, but the mesh picked the light up and would blow out the blue color from the flash below. The black background is just light control.

My very high-tech contraption. Doubled cheesecloth bag suspended via kitchen twine from a broom running between my cabinets, hanging over my sink. Strains the yogurt so it's nice and thick.
