  • A pinhole camera is a simple camera without a lens and with a single small aperture -- effectively a light-proof box with a small hole in one side. Light from a scene passes through this single point and projects an inverted image on the opposite side of the box.
  • A camera with a pinhole aperture and no lens
  • A camera whose lens is covered except for a pin-sized hole. You have a very small aperture, so you have to shoot long exposures.
  • The most basic form of a camera in which no lens is used. A pinhole camera is made by making a lightight container and poking a pinhole in the front of the camera where a lens would go.

I made these two paper pinhole cameras using cardstock and black construction paper backing it. I have used the Dirkon and have yet to use the Rubikon. My biggest hassle with using the Dirkon was the paper clip used as a film winder kept breaking. I need to find a better solution for the flimsy paperclips. The Rubikon uses a paper winder but I have been concerned it to won't hold up when winding the film.

Pinhole camera made from a cardboard box, 8x10 paper negative. Exposed for longer than the first ones, but still lacking in shadow detail. Successfully patched up a few light leaks, but still need to do something about the contrast. Need to up the preflashing exposure, and locate my colored filter set. Tomorrow is another sunny day!
