I remember as a kid, a dollar really went far. Really the bottom dollar in shrunk using liquid ammonia. Not the kind you keep under the sink at home, but the industrial 100% strength type. Liquid ammonia is used in refrigeration of large commercial food processing and cold storage buildings. Liquid ammonia has a flashpoint of -27 degrees, meaning that in its liquid form, it is atleast that cold (cold enough to freeze you solid or severely burn you if contacted with you skin) Don't ask me how, I just know that I dipped a dollar bill into it using tongs and then put it on top of the compressor which is warm and it shrinks up. This one was dipped and warmed about 5 times to get to that size. Oh, and you think that your ammonia at home stinks and burns your eyes, I can't even begin to tell you what its like with an ammonia leak in a building.

Hall County to welcome new cold storage facility Hall County will welcome Eskimo Cold Storage in early 2007 - a facility that will mainly serve the poultry industry. The facility will be built along highway 129, about five miles south of Gainesville. Eskimo plans to use Lanier Technical College's Quick Start program to train workers for the opening. "The Quick Start Training Program and the Ammonia Refrigeration training program available through Lanier Technical College weighed favorably in our consideration to start this new business," says Steve Williams, who will be CEO of the new Eskimo Cold Storage. Institute is a new group that features Gavin Rossdale (Bush) along with Chris Traynor, Cache Tolman & Charlie Walker. Gavin is eager to point out that the band's debut full length album is very much a product of collaboration. ''Institute is not a solo thing,'' he says, ''because I didn't do it alone, just some of it''. As he explains, the word ''institute'' refers to a ''cultural collective'': Far from being a ''solo project'', Institute was a product of everyone's input and suggestions. Although Gavin brings his distinctive vocals, guitar playing, and lyrics to the album, Institute also sparklingly showcases the New York-based talents of guitarist Chris Traynor (who had also played with Rossdale on the last Bush tour, also a member of Helmet and formerly of Orange 9mm), and bassist Cache Tolman (formaly of Rival Schools, CIV). Notably, this debut album was produced and guided by Helmet's main-man, Page Hamilton, whom Rossdale had long admired. And finally Charlie Walker on drums, a local musician from Brooklyn where they all live. The first single from the album is 'Bullet Proof Skin'. 13 total tracks including the bonus 'The Buzz Of My System'. Universal. 2005.
