The 2nd St Ives Scout Group is a very active group within the Ku-ring-gai District.  We operate both a Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop for boys and girls aged 8 -14 years.
We are a very family focused group that provides plenty of opportunity for involvement by parents as well as enjoyment and development for youth members.  Attendance at weekly meeting is only a tiny part of what is available.  Each section has it's own program of activities and our Group participates in many District and Regional events including Cub Fun Days, Scout Hike, District Camps, Sirius Cup (canoeing and sailing regatta), Operation Rosemary (on ANZAC Day).  Then there is always the Australian Scout Jamboree and the NSW Cuboree. Twice a year we also hold a Family Camp to allow the families within our Group to get to know each other better.
Parental involvement is essential for the ongoing functioning of the Group.  Besides becoming a member of the Group Committee or becoming a leader, there are many ways to support your children through transport to/from activities, volunteering to help out at weekly meetings and special activities, participating in working bees (held twice each year at the Scout Hall) and contributing to our Open Day and Group fundraising events.
We hope you join our Group and experience the fun and friendship that the current members of the group have experienced through Scouting.
Scouting is a worldwide movement that has shaped the development of young people and adults for over 100 years.
Scouts Australia encourages the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and emotional development of young people so they may play a constructive role in society as responsible citizens and as members of their local and international communities.
