As described in the Venues section, our at-home reception was held in a club that was a converted warehouse, which had never previously hosted a wedding. Although it provided lots of space, a dance floor, a sound system, a video machine, and a kitchen, the decoration was left up to us. Fortunately, the owner let us have a key the day before the reception, so that we could spend two days decorating.
We started by using as much as we could of the ceremony decor at our reception, so our guests could feel as included as possible. For example, we used the chuppah from our ceremony to frame the cake table. We displayed our ketubah on an easel next to the chuppah.
We used a card box made from a birdcage purchased from Save-On-Crafts, to which we had added some ribbon and a sign.
