2B: Blockchain and Big data (區塊鏈及大數據分析)

今年開始NTU, Stanford, Princeton, MIT, Duke, NYU各名校紛紛開Bitcoin課程。台大abc研究室也應邀協助各種金融司法案件偵查，所以台大本研究室不僅在2B研究不輸國際，2B也務實不務虛，走入人間，做真正可用的產品改變世界，尤其矽谷投資Blockchain領域的新創大約US$1B，與Big data的投資合起來超過2B dollars！老師從Google退休一次回台，立志就是要繼續像Google一樣做大題目，think Big，think 像2B這樣有價值的方向，辦2B hackathon，不小打小鬧app的表層而已，不務虛，能接地氣玩真的。Note: 大寫Bitcoin代表Bitcoin相關技術，包含Blockchain，小寫bitcoin代表比特幣貨幣。我們不是比特幣炒手，我們是研究Bitcoin（大寫）改變世界。
所以我們不鼓勵旁聽：雖然我們教最尖端的好東西，來修課的同學不是來指指點點看戲的，是來“跨領域，實境學，動手做”（9字箴言）。最新的東西往往不完美，但反正我們目標不是完美妖豔的萬年投影片。天下雜誌的矽谷Stanford分析，Stanford的成功奠基於以上9字箴言，也就是我常說的，Stanford教我的“跨領域，玩真的，做中學”。所以這門課有業界參訪實作，請學生準備走入人間。
Big topics are crucial especially today: Benefitting from Moore's Law, the main abstraction level in Computer Science has shifted higher rapidly. (In comparison, Taiwan's industry has been buried in hardware, drivers, and benchmarking game.) 2B is taught by an author of Big Explorer, Android Virtual Machine and RenderScript Engine (Google).
Course Goal or "課程目標":
讓修課同學：從實際有影響力的系統開始，培養同學掌握基本能力及掌握2B的真功夫。
學生亟需這種跨領域的訓練。
