my old man is getting old. he will be 14 in a couple of months. he started losing weight about 2 months ago. i noticed that he seemed like it was hard for him to chew so i started feeding him very soft food 3 times a day. that went pretty well for another month or so. unfortunately, he progressed into not eating his soft food either. maybe a bite or two but.... off to the vet we went. his teeth are in very bad condition. he was a little 'adamant' that they not look too closely even at the vet but they could tell he needed antibiotics for an infection. this hasn't helped the eating problem. as you can see, he's started to drool. after the antibiotic is finished this time, the vet says he really should be anesthetized and have his teeth cleaned or the infection will come back. the only thing...he is so old, they really don't know if he's going to make it through the anesthesia. what do i do here? i've been stressing out over this for a month now knowing that he's hungry, can't eat properly, feeding him 4 times a day only to watch him take two small bites and walk back to me, looking up, imploring me with his eyes to 'fix it'. i don't know how to fix it. explore: april 19, 2009 - #359

I wish to officially announce I have finally broken all my connections with Weight Watchers.....I shall go my own way from now on as I dont need to be treated like I'm 5 years old and stupid anymore.................................. PS I am an emotional eater-I dont eat for hunger always for when my emotions are upset-Ive spent my life struggling with food and diets and diabetes--I lost 5 stone in 2009 but my life only changed for the worse....so I give up !!!!
