I have a confession. I own 3 bikes. That's probably 2 more than I need. This one is the oldest of them all. I bought it when I lived in the US back in '96. I used it there for a bit of mountain biking, and cycling up and down like a tool in the desert east of San Diego. Once I got it home to Ireland it became the commute bike, but since owning a car made me soft it didn't see much action. Over here in France/Switzerland it sees a lot more action to and from work. About a year ago I decided to try to make it "sexy". I swapped out the knobblies for some conti sport contact slicks. Not only did it look stupid but the back wheel fell off a day later and spilled me all over the road. The next idiot upgrade was to turn it into a proper commute bike. For that it would need a child seat for my son and panniers for my work gear and his day gear. Rear carrier duly added, pannier bought followed by child seat. Of course once the child seat is on the pannier won't fit on the carrier so now a front rack is ordered and probably a set of front panniers next. Then I'll be set to go right? I do love this bike though. It's a cheap ass anchor (it weighs more than the other 2 bikes put together) with biopace chainrings and old style canti breaks but I love the value for money (I paid something like $200 back in the day) and the thousands of kilometers we've traveled together. But the best bit. I mean... who calls a mountain bike "Great Falls"?

Last Friday my bike came in and since then I've been riding all over the city. My favorite thing is to pick a friend who lives a few miles away and visit them or go for a ride with someone else. I don't have a lock so I can't run errands or leave it outside. Who wants me to come visit them or wants to go for a ride with me?? PS i also have rollerblades, anyone want to skate?
