  • A bicycle that is suitable for use on ordinary roads, as opposed to a mountain bike
  • (Road biking) Road cycling is the most widespread form of cycling. It takes place primarily on paved surfaces. It includes recreational, racing, and utility cycling.
  • (Road bike) A road bicycle is similar to a racing bicycle. However, road bikes are built more for endurance and less for fast bursts of speed, which is desired in a racing bicycle. They usually have more gear combinations and fewer hi-tech racing features.
  • A motorcycle that meets the legal requirements for use on ordinary roads
  • (Road Bike) Another name for a bike most of us know as a 10 speed. This is a bicycle designed for riding on the road and built for speed. It has dropped handlebars, for aerodynamic purposes, narrow tires and is lightweight.

Replaced the worn out tires and bar tape on my ride, time to take a few shots. This is my "Pimp Caddi' Blue" custom 853 steel road bike, hand brazed (not welded) by Chris Zanotti in San Fransisco. It has slightly longer chainstays, a deeper BB, and slightly slacker head angle for smoother ride than most modern 'race' bikes. It was painted by Joe's Bicycle Painting in Watsonville CA. I wanted a very traditional look and was inspired by frames I lusted over by Peter Mooney, Soulcraft, Circle-A, IF,and Vanilla. It has a pretty simple build: Reynolds Ouzo Pro fork, painted with a blue fade to match. Ultegra Drivetrain Handbuilt 32 spoke wheels, Open Pro/Ultegra SLR saddle FSA Wingpro Bar (so comfortable) The seatpost is a New really-Old Stock post that my LBS hooked me up with when the glue cracked on my carbon post. It's not the fanciest, lightest, priciest, or fastest bike out there....and I like it that way just fine. The only thing I want is some of those retro-mod stainless King waterbottle cages.
