Who We Are
Paving the Way to a Brighter Future
218 Rotherham Squadron has made a postive difference to the lives of young people in Rotherham since it was founded all those years ago.
It is part of the South and West Yorkshire Wing of the national Royal Air Force Air Cadet organisation and meets twice weekly at the Army Reserves Centre on Fitzwilliam Road. The motto o
f the squadron reads "Nulli Secundus" meaning "Second to None".
The squadron provides young people between the ages of 12 (Year 8) and 20 with a wide variety of challenges and opportunities which enable them to unlock their potential and make new friendships.
Currently the squadron consists of around 60 Cadets, 10 Cadet NCOs plus a number of trained Adult Staff.
The squadron prides itself on its core strengths of commitment and discipline, always fostering a keen sense of team spirit and loyalty.

All uniform is free on initial issue and fair replacement, except shoes, boots which can be purchased through squadron
TF = Training Flight
Attend in smart civilian clothing for all activities except sports/dofe circuits - come in sports kit
Leadership/Teambuilding and First Aid in clothing you can get dirty.

A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. You just need to be aged between 14 and 24 and realise there’s more to life than sitting on a sofa watching life pass you by.
