Background: SAGE

What is SAGE?
SAGE: Strategic Alliance of Global Educators

Formed in 2012, with the 1st SAGE conference took place in Singapore, hosted by Nanyang Girls' High School

There are 3 areas of interests:
  1. Bi-cultural Education
  2. 1-to-1 Computing
  3. Experiential Learning
Each member school is an 'expert' in at least one of the above mentioned area, where the schools could exchange their expertise and learn from each other through various platforms or programmes.

Background: iSummit

This is a platform that RDFZ XSS organised to bring Apple Distinguished Educators to run a series of workshops for local teachers, in particular, for the staff in XSS.

In 2014, RDFZ XSS combined the 2 events together, to bring about a more exciting and richer experience to both local and international participants.

Updates

1. The Perse School (Cambridge, UK) will host the 2016 Conference in tandem with the school's 400th anniversary.
2. The Avenues World School will host the 2018 edition of the SAGE conference.
3. The next RDFZ iSummit will be held on 2 May 2016

Follow-up

The following schools will champion the corresponding themes:

  • RDFZ Xishan School: 1-to-1 Computing
  • Nanyang Girls High School & Punahou School: Experiential Learning
  • Hwa Chong Institution: Bilingualism & Biculturalism

The Perse School will take the lead in setting up Edmodo groups on various initiatives.

The founding members of the SAGE discussed the possibility of introducing tiers (e.g. Founding member, Associate member) to the membership.
