Intelligent Sensors and Smart Environments (ISSE 2013)

Call for papers

The 4th International Workshop on Intelligent Sensors and Smart Environments (ISSE 2013)

in conjunction with

The 16th International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems (NBiS 2013)

September 4 - 6, 2013
Gwangju, Korea

To automatically provide human-centric services, it is desired to build smart envionments for such a purpose.

The background system needs to first detect and collect needed information in the environment via various sensors like video cameras, RFIDs, infrared sensors, motion sensors, pressure sensors, and ... etc.

The information is then processed for understanding the context and intention of the people in the environment.

Finally services are provided in a timely manner. Sensing technology, embedded systems, wireless communications and intelligent methods are the core to build integrated smart environments.

This workshop wishes to attract state-of-the-art solutions and novel attempts in this field.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following

- Sensing technologies for smart environments

- Intelligent information processing for smart environments

- Wired/wireless networking for smart environments

- Embedded systems for smart environments

- Context-aware services

- Adaptive and personalized systems

- Human-centric computer interfaces

- Dependable and secure systems and devices

- Ambient/ubiquitous/pervasive computing and intelligence

- Human behavior understanding for smart environments

- Image and video analysis for smart environments

Final Manuscript: May 31, 2013
Conference Dates: September 4-6, 2013

Submission Guidelines

Submit a full paper not more than eight pages (Proceedings Manuscripts: two columns, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 font size, and number each page. You can find instructions for authors to format the manuscript at the following web page:

Prepare your paper in PDF file (Adobe format), and submit it electronically to the online submission system:

Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the conference. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance.

Proceedings of the NBiS-2013 will be published by Conference Publishing Service (CPS). Presented papers at NBiS-2013 will be considered for publication in several Special Issues in International Journals.
