Friday Kickoff Luncheon Speaker
Lynn Lary will be giving the Friday, Kick-off luncheon presentation for the OASL conference. Lynn is an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Springfield Public Schools in Springfield, Oregon. Her presentation “Libraries without Walls (LWOW) will be directed to both librarians and classroom teachers. She will inspire us with ideas to prepare students to be transliterate in an increasingly digital world focusing on accessing materials anytime, anywhere from a variety of devices. Lynn will share real examples of how teachers and librarians from Springfield have collaborated with integrating information literacy skills into the curriculum. Lynn and her team from Springfield will also be hosting several breakout sessions on Saturday afternoon, including: Ready, Set, (W)e Read, Technical Perspectives: Creating a One Stop Shop, There’s an App for That, and BookTubes. Saturday Keynote Speaker
The Saturday morning keynote comes from the great state of Oklahoma. Wes Fryer is a nationally recognized digital learning consultant, author, digital storyteller, educator and change agent. Wes will inspire us with ideas of how teachers and librarians can create and share a variety of multimedia products. Wes will show how these can be “mapped” to your curriculum and to the Common Core Standards.
Wes will also present two breakout sessions on Saturday afternoon. One will be focused on creating multimedia eBooks and the other on creating narrated slideshows and screencasts - bring your laptop and come and learn!
