Certificate Renewal Credit

SC State Department of Education Renewal Credit Guidelines:

Renewal credits must be related to the educator's professional growth plan and/or support the goals of the employing educational entity, and, therefore, are subject to the approval of the educational district or entity. A pre-approval form for this professional activity may be required. An educator may earn renewal credits only through activities for which all eligibility criteria have been met. The educator is responsible for maintaining all required renewal credit verification and documentation.

The educator will be responsible for turning in the verification to the appropriate district/entity renewal credit plan coordinator for processing. For more information go to http://www.scteachers.org, then click on the “Recertification” link.

Obtaining Credit for Sessions Attended:

The SC Association of School Librarians is pleased to be able to offer renewal credit for participation in the conference again this year. Each registered attendee will receive a numbered scan card at registration. It is the participant’s responsibility to have the card scanned at each session attended including general and keynote sessions. After conference, participants will receive an electronic transcript of sessions. All educators employed in a SC public school district should take the session transcript provided by SCASL to their district or school coordinator to be processed for certificate renewal credit. It is up to each participant to follow the guidelines of his/her district in order to receive full credit for this Professional Development Activity.
Make sure your card has been activated before attending any concurrent session to recieve credit.
