We started off from Melbourne to Christchurch on the 23rd of May for sixteen days of touring and dining. We picked-up our car at Christchurch and spent a couple of days there including a day-trip to Akaroa, an immense crater left after a volcano blew its top, before travelling down the East Coast of the South Island to Dunedin, then across to Queenstown, up to Franz Josef Glacier, the sunny West Coast to Westport and across to Blenheim via Nelson, and then we left our hire-car at Picton and caught the Interislander Ferry, 'Aotere', to Wellington on the North Island.

We were met with our second car and spent a couple of days in Wellington before scooting up the North Island and across to Napier via Palmeston North, and then into the centre to beautiful Lake Taupo, the amazing Waitamo Caves, Hamilton, Rotarua, then up to Whakatane on the Bay of Plenty then back along the coast to Tauranga and up-and-down the Coromandel Peninsula and finally to Auckland and back to Melbourne.
