Tuesday lunch time prayer

posted Oct 25, 2015, 6:57 PM by Towanda Church

Tuesday Lunch-Time Prayer: As a result of our recent retreat, Pastor Sherry has asked us all to take time on Tuesday’s, at lunch-time, to pray about our Church and the mission God has called us to do. To “jump start” this special prayer time, Sherry has given us this start.

All loving Creator God, pour down your Holy Spirt upon your community of First Towanda UMC. Help us to discern your glorious vision for us in this place; give us a new faithfulness to your word, and a new consecration to your service, that through our renewed witness, your Holy Name may be glorified and your kingdom advanced, through Jesus Christ our Lord…….Amen

THANK YOU!

A big thank you to everyone who donated items to the HUB babyshower. Your donations of onsies, sleepers, baby washclothes and receiving blankets are much appreciated and will help us complete several layette kits to send to Mission Central for babies all over the world.

We are starting up an 8-session small group called Equipping God's People.
This ministry is designed to help people in local churches grow in leadership of guiding their congregations to greater effectiveness in disciple making. Churches are encouraged to send teams of people (ideal teams are about 10% of the average worship attendance). These are fee based sessions – which will provide books, materials and teaching for one fee. The groups will generally meet on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for three hours.  The first session will be November 17th from 5:30-9PM.  Please contact Judy at  570-265-3526 or the church office to register.

Saturday Prayer

posted Jun 13, 2014, 6:27 AM by Towanda Church   [ updated Aug 12, 2014, 1:55 PM ]

Prayer Group Forming
When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure I'll be there. (Matthew 18:19-20 from The Message) With this as our guide, we will meet the 2nd and 4th  Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Prayer Garden. Even if you can't join us Saturday mornings, you can pray for the Church from home. Prayers for the Church are modeled in the Bible! Look at John 17. The emphasis here is to pray for Unity in Jesus for the church
