Remembrance Weekend

On the weekend of Remembrance Sunday we have two main activities the scouts are involved in:
Poppy Selling
On the Saturday we sell poppies for donations in support of the Royal British Legion. We base ourselves at the Radlett War Memorial and have the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts with support from parents and leaders placing themselves over Watling Street. We normally do this between 11am and 2pm. This year this will be on Saturday 11th November 2017.

Remembrance Parade & Service
On the Sunday it is the Act or Remembrance at the War Memorial. This has been getting bigger each year and the organisers normally arrange for the road to be closed to allow for us, the Guides and 4th Radlett Scouts to march down Watling Street. We meet at the Radlett Centre at 10.15am and leave at 10.30am to march to the War Memorial.  When on parade we require smart uniform, preferably not covered with a coat so it can be seen!, so if cold wear layers underneath. We then will stand in the road with the flag bearers and wreath layers the only people around the war memorial. The service lasts about 30 minutes and parents are welcome to stay. This year this will be held on Sunday 12th November 2017.
