Chair's Report & Radlett Festival 2017

Dear All

Thank you to everyone who attended our Celebration Evening last week, as you would have heard from our Chair we need to do more fundraising to enable us to do improvements to our Headquarters which is now 50 years old. A copy of her report for those who were unable to attend is attached to this post.

If anyone has an ideas for fundraising we would love to hear from you and we could do with a couple of extra people on our committee to run fundraising events.

Our first opportunity to raise funds is at the Radlett Festival on Sunday 11 June where we will joining forces with the Guides to run the refreshment tent. We need lots of volunteers to run this from 12 noon to 5 pm, as well as donations of large and small cakes preferably homemade. Your child should bring a letter home from their meeting asking for help and there is a sign up sheet on the door to the hall for you to add your name too.

If your employer can match funds to help us raise more then we would love to hear from you as well.

We also need some adults to help erect and take down the mess tent on the day, we usually need it up at 9am and take it down at 5.30pm and many hands make light work.

As you will see from Sarah’s report there is a real chance that the Scout troop will close at the end of term if we do not sufficient numbers of volunteers for it to continue. Please help with spreading the word.

Finally is anyone involved in the group a surveyor as would like to plan future works on the building and would appreciate the input of a surveyor.
