high pass low pass filter
    pass filter
  • A band-pass filter is a device that passes frequencies within a certain range and rejects (attenuates) frequencies outside that range. An example of an analogue electronic band-pass filter is an RLC circuit (a resistor–inductor–capacitor circuit).
    high
  • A high point, level, or figure
  • A notably happy or successful moment
  • A high-frequency sound or musical note
  • a lofty level or position or degree; "summer temperatures reached an all-time high"
  • greater than normal in degree or intensity or amount; "a high temperature"; "a high price"; "the high point of his career"; "high risks"; "has high hopes"; "the river is high"; "he has a high opinion of himself"
  • at a great altitude; "he climbed high on the ladder"
    low
  • A particularly bad or difficult moment
  • A low point, level or figure
  • less than normal in degree or intensity or amount; "low prices"; "the reservoir is low"
  • A state of depression or low spirits
  • in a low position; near the ground; "the branches hung low"
  • an air mass of lower pressure; often brings precipitation; "a low moved in over night bringing sleet and snow"

Scosche Xohp High-Pass Crossover
Scosche is going to keep doing what it's best at: designing, developing and bringing to market technically superior and reasonably priced car audio products. Scosche Industries attributes its success to several factors, not the least of which is talented, enthusiast people. The emphasis on only producing the finest quality products at reasonable prices, and providing the consumer with easy to use, well-designed functional accessories has been the key to success. This high pass crossover allows high frequencies to pass and blocks out low frequencies. This makes your speakers sound better and stops distortions. No only does it improve your sound, but it helps your speakers last longer by taking the stress of excess bass off of them!

Great St. Bernard Pass
Great St. Bernard Pass
We're back home after a wonderful three weeks holiday, touring through Italy and on Corsica. The above was taken en-route from home to our first destination, the Italian Riviera. We decided to go via the St. Bernard Pass in stead of taking the usual St. Gotthard tunnel route. The weather, as you can see, was just splendid... Great St. Bernard Pass (el. 2469 m.) is the third highest road pass in Switzerland. It connects Martigny in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland to Aosta in Italy. It is the lowest pass lying on the ridge between the two highest summits of the Alps, Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa. The pass itself is located in Switzerland in the canton of Valais, very close to Italy. It is located on the main watershed that separates the basin of the Rhone from that of the Po. Great St. Bernard is the most ancient pass through the Western Alps, with evidence of use as far back as the Bronze Age and surviving traces of a Roman road. In 1800, Napoleon's army used the pass to enter Italy. Having been bypassed by easier and more practical routes, particularly the Great St Bernard Tunnel which opened in 1964, its value today is mainly historical and recreational. Straddling the highest point of the road, the Great St Bernard Hospice was founded in 1049. The hospice later became famous for its use of St. Bernard dogs in rescue operations. (source Wikipedia)
Public Alley
Public Alley
I have never been good at sleeping. It's just a skill set that I don't have. Lately though, this problem has gotten even worse. So, tonight I decided to walk the nearly 5 miles home from work in an attempt to wear myself out. Well, this didn't really go as planned and instead of wearing me out, the long walk just made me catalog all these little places that I needed to go back out and photograph. The lights in this alley were motion activated, but only stayed on for 5 seconds (tops) at a time. This was quite problematic when working with a 30 second exposure so the entire time I'm shooting this I had to jump up and down behind the camera to keep all the lights from going off.

Delineating high-density areas in spatial Poisson fields from strip-transect sampling using indicator geostatistics: Application to unexploded ordnance ... from: Journal of Environmental Management]
This digital document is a journal article from Journal of Environmental Management, published by Elsevier in 2007. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser.

Description:
An approach for delineating high anomaly density areas within a mixture of two or more spatial Poisson fields based on limited sample data collected along strip transects was developed. All sampled anomalies were transformed to anomaly count data and indicator kriging was used to estimate the probability of exceeding a threshold value derived from the cdf of the background homogeneous Poisson field. The threshold value was determined so that the delineation of high-density areas was optimized. Additionally, a low-pass filter was applied to the transect data to enhance such segmentation. Example calculations were completed using a controlled military model site, in which accurate delineation of clusters of unexploded ordnance (UXO) was required for site cleanup.
