Scouting has changed both a great deal and not very much from when we were of an age to participate! It still holds the fundamental values of fun and adventure for children whilst being grounded in values of doing duty to oneself, others and to God. It is now open to both boys and girls and is less solely to do with camp craft and knots but incorporates activities such as computing, global conservation, martial arts and personal safety. Nevertheless we do still look forward to our outdoor activities and camp fires whilst trying new things, making new friends and not worrying too much about getting muddy! Activities covered in recent meetings include catching mini beasts in the woods, finding out about Fair Trade products, designing wildlife conservation posters, making cakes for a charity fundraiser and having a go at science experiments. There are always a lot of games too!
