Why is "The ROSE and the PYRAMID" a Collector's Item?
Why is "The ROSE and the PYRAMID" a Collector's Item?
Yeah, yeah, “Supply and Demand.” So what else is new? Lots!

The answer to the question in this essay’s title may be more complex than pondering the purpose for creating a physical universe, which is the can of worms (grubs become butterflies) opened in the Mya Gem series of novels initiated by THE ROSE AND THE PYRAMID…

The concept for that novel came bursting into my mind February 2, 1985, as holding possibilities for answering a primal scream about the suffering inherent in life on earth. Of course, I had my own suffering to assuage, too, but I had already learned that a life of rapture for me would merely translate as more personal suffering if everything and everyone around me was still struggling in the eternal pits.

In retrospect, I see that novel as not precisely having The Answers; but possibly having a few more right angles than some of the philosophical medicines we’ve been given, including those which Buddha’s followers have interpreted him to have said, which might have been skewed in translation (the interpretations, not his actual concepts).

According to the dictionary, Buddha has said that suffering and life are inseparable, and that accepting suffering is the only release of it. I attempted to begin demolition of that link between suffering and life in my sequel to The Rose and the Pyramid. That sequel’s title (which is a parallel rather than a sequel) is Morning Comes: The Pre Dawn Blues.

The original trade paperback of The Rose and the Pyramid has continued selling on its own, in used copies at rising collector’s prices, since its publication in 1987. Why? My speculations on that are included in this book.

[Note that this KINDLE edition of Why… a Collector’s Item, has similar upgrade enhancements as do my other KINDLE offerings, so when you read this book, you’ll have a sampling of how my other KINDLE works are presented, though most of them are full length books and have many more photos than “Why is…”.]

Some of the scientific concepts developed in this series might very well be proven true one day, long into our future (if it continues that far). Due to that, due to tidbits included about the collector’s item situation, and due to the detailing of some of my personal means of coming to this story, I listed the 2007 Amazon Short edition of this title in the categories of Biography & Memoirs; Business & Investment; Nonfiction & Essays; and Science, in addition to the more obvious ones of Sci-Fi; Fantasy; and Health, Mind, & Body.

In this KINDLE GLOW BOOKS edition, this title (Why is “The Rose and the Pyramid” a collector’s item?) is listed in Antiques & Collectibles (books); Business & Economics (Advertising & Promotion); Philosophy (metaphysics); Poetry (American); Psychology (Social Psychology).

At the time of this publication, the Mya Gem series, THE BOOKS OF GEM have been published by KINDLE GLOW BOOKS. I couldn’t have found a better House for these works. Given the capacities inherent in the Amazon KINDLE reading device, these books have internal hyperlinks, photo essays, and more. At the time of time of this publication, by the preference of the author, these enhanced books are available only on KINDLE.

Thank you, Jeff Bezos and the teams of DTP and KINDLE. You guys get the last words!
