Boy, Mark Twain sure made it sound so bleak! We have more and tastier choices today. My health partner, Linda, and I are trying to keep up with our goal of becoming healthier. This includes eating healthier; I am trying to keep healthy eating in mind as we move toward the holidays. Simple things like steamed rice being healthier than fried rice as a choice seem like doable goals. We try to encourage each other; this week I've been texting her funny cartoons about weight loss and exercise. We both need the encouragement: We also set the goal of daily exercise earlier this year. We are both struggling to keep at this goal . . . yesterday I got in almost 55 minutes of exercise between walking in the park with my husband and two short sessions on a piece of exercise equipment I just brought home. Humor helps me get perspective on my SORENESS!! Ouch. I have more cartoons to text her! I was being more consistent for awhile then I began traveling and got away from my discipline. It's time to get back on schedule. Everytime she writes, "I admire your discipline," I feel encouraged not to give up. Even with my recent transgressions, I'm still doing better than those who don't exercise or pay attention to what they eat at all.
