the U.S ordered its first U.S designed bomber (as a reconnaissance plane), the Martin GMB(MB-1 )in 1918 receiving 9 by Armistice day...the tenth was completed as a 12-place transport. The follow on MB-2, 1920, was enlarged and strengthened and 20 were produced by Martin as the NBS-1. The Army( Air service), owning the design rights bought 50 more NBS-1 from Curtiss , 35 from LWF Engineering Company and 25 from Aeromarine all being fitted with war surplus Liberty engines. Curtiss bid too low and admitted losing $6,000 per plane One Martin MB-2 was fitted with superchargers, reaching 25,600ft on Dec8 Combat Planes, Ray Wagner

This was built as a 1.2MW oil-fired steam turbine electricity plant (later enlarged ) recently converted by a British Company to Natural gas...the building is a modernist landmark reached by a bridge from the regenerated 'old' harbour at Tel Aviv ...the area now sounds like a place to eat drink and 'hang out' Worth noting the line of camels in front of the powerstation :)
