Matilda Mae: The Dog Who Needed a Name
Meet Matilda Mae, a sweet beagle puppy who needed some help finding her "forever home." Her siblings were adopted quickly because of their outgoing personalities and adherence to the standard of what a beagle "should" look like. Matilda Mae's shyness and quirky appearance caused her to be left behind and eventually surrendered to an animal shelter. Luckily for Matilda Mae, her new friends at the shelter found a loving family to take her home. This book includes 19 lovingly drawn, full-color illustrations. This book educates readers about the issue of homeless pets and animal adoption in a thoughtful and age-appropriate manner. The author will donate a portion of her proceeds from the sale of this book to animal shelters.

I sent this yesterday, so there's a couple of changes... He's now 3#'s 1oz, they put him back on the C-Pap this morning and we're waiting for the results for some blood tests and a chest x-ray to see if there's a reason for his breathing episodes like infection. We will see... Sorry for taking so long to send out this update, I mean to everyday and then life just gets so busy... Jack is doing well, last Sunday he had to be put back on the C-pap or larger respirator and yesterday when I went in they had him back on the nasal canula and got the settings just right so he hadn't had any monitor events since 4 pm yesterday he did have 1 small one this morning but that is normal. The neurosurgeon says all is going well with the shunt and the ultrasounds are coming back showing it's all good. The beginning of the week they did an EEG or a brain scan to see if he was having seizures, I am pleased to say that his brain is all normal immature preemie activity no seizures here. They upped his caffeine level since he's growing so well. Right now we are waiting for him to gain weight so we can get him all fixed up. When they go in the reconnect the intestines he will also have to get a hernia fixed, but I guess that is norm for most preemie boys. End of last week they took him for an upper GI to make sure there were no stops in his intestines and everything flowed through they were pleased. When they did this they gave him an enema to get him to poop like normal and it all came out well :) He'll be 33 weeks on Monday, the nurse last night said at 33 or 34 weeks they will start trying to bottle feed him slowly. They put a hold on his feeds so was at 6mls an hour yesterday they upped it to 7. He was off the Lipids and TPN or protein water for about 4 days after the shunt surgery and they put him back on it to give him more calories, They had also started giving him an oil with his feedings and putting fortifier in my milk for him. He's now gaining significant and steady weight so I am assuming they will take him off the TPN and lipids soon as those go through a pick line/main IV that they want to take off him soon. I am pleased to announce that last night he hit his 3# mark, so in 9 oz probably 9 days time he will be at the weight the Dr's originally said for the surgery. We still haven't heard if he will need a permanent shunt yet, I am praying not but we will see. We are still looking at him coming home mid to end of Sept depending on the surgeries. I think that is everything in a nutshell, the roller coaster ride is still running and turning my hair grey but everything is turning out great and I am so thankful to everyone for your prayers and thoughts and for God for listening and answering!!! Isabelle is doing well, she's in a program for the rest of the summer for reading and getting tutoring for Math since the Math program was at the same times and days and the reading, just so she's all refreshed for when she gets back, she loves both so much. I can't believe school starts in 3 short weeks. She's growing up and maturing so fast, she loves her brother and can't wait to hold him, she's not allowed to touch him until Aug 22nd because she got a mild case of the chicken pox over 2 weeks ago, so she's going crazy but at least she is allowed in there to see him 2x's a week. She's had a very busy summer, she went up north with my parents for a week and in 2 weeks when her program is over she may go back up again for the week before school starts. She a regular fish, took her to the beach the other day and decided she was going to swim, I was so proud of her, she had lessons last year and I've been trying to teach her for 4 years now and all of a sudden she's swimming, My BFF's son's goggles are what did the trick. But she was really good at it and I am so very proud of her. That's her in a nutshell too... she'll be in the 2nd grade this year and turning 8 in Nov. where the heck does time go. As for Paul and me... We're hanging in there, Paul's business is doing well, Praise God. A few weeks agi his sciatic nerve decided to be a pain, took him a couple of days out of commision but he was fine until he drove up to Grayling to meet my parents and get Isabelle, was out of commission last weekend and went back to the Dr to find it's a pinched nerve and he has really high blood pressure, He's doing great now with the pinched nerve and the BP is great with the meds. So he is doing well. Me... I'm just taking it day by day and sometimes moment to moment. We've had a lot of little stuff happen to us like washers and fridges and dishwashers dying and yesterday was rear ended but it was not bad, there was no outside damage but seems to thrown the car's doors out of alignment so they are stinking but God is good noone got hurt and we've been able to replace the appliances for little cost, except the dishwasher so I am doing thast by hand right now :( There's been other small stuff but I can't complain the major stuff is what is go

Home again for the weekend which was probably a mistake because it’s like 20 degrees colder here than back at my apartment. This is a problem because I need to start shooting for my color project and I can only use daylight (the sun and the moon)…see previous image for details. It’s probably going to be too cold to get anything to my standards when I and any model I might use have to work in this cold. I have to have my prints a week from Tuesday. I know that I’m probably getting way ahead of this assignment and myself. If I don’t get anything this weekend then I’ll have to do almost all of my shooting by myself with little time. My only free time to shoot during the week is after 4, which is another problem because half of my project has to be shot during the hours before 4. I’m going to have to just not go to work. I also can’t ONLY shoot after four because I have reading and other things for school and I have to have time to myself. I hardly ever relax or give myself time to myself because even when I do have that time I make myself create things because I feel like I have to be creating all the time.. or something. I sometimes feel like I’m obligated to post something on the internet everyday which is absurd but I’m also absurd. I don’t allow myself to just sit on my couch and watch a movie or anything..hardly ever. It’s not good for me to not allow myself real leisure but I can’t help it. ? I just burned 600 calories in 30 minutes according to the exercise machine. I’ve noticed that I’ve started to gain weight this winter. I know you think I’m crazy but honestly I suck in in a lot of my pictures. I have to keep myself in shape because I worked so hard to get to this point and I’m also an integral part of my subject matter in a lot of my art. I’m getting rid of all my junk food and only eating when I need to and I need to stop eating (chocolate mostly) to make myself feel better. I haven't been to a show in forever and there's a band I like playing kind of close to here but it's on Sunday and I need to be back in Carbondale for school on Monday.... and this place is 3.5 hours from there... Which means i probably wouldn't get back to my apartment until 2 or 3 in the morning at least. So it's safe to say I'm not going to something because of school...AGAIN My mood has gone to hell. There’s never enough time for anything. Moments of happiness are fleeting. I’m driving myself into the ground. Yeah, I sound like a huge baby. I have no reason to expose myself to the world like this. p.s. I really need input on my matte question from the peter photo. I need to order most of my entries that I'm having commercially printed this weekend. And yes letting me know your opinion on what to enter.. if you haven't is still appreciated. Theres another exhibit that I can enter one photo of any kind to if you didn't read my previous entry. Strobist: Vivitar 285hv w/snoot - camera right
