Water Meter Billing Billing - Previous Year Charges I cannot find these charges on my bill  For a Split period bill, the charges will be needed for both current and previous year.  Sadly these charges are not always on the bill, on the front or the rear of the bill! In which case you will have to get them from a previous bill/ your retained bills/ or from the supplier.  In the event - it may be quicker to estimate the charges and see what totals are calculated; adjust accordingly. The Paid Version retains bills for you.
Water Meter Billing  Dates The previous/current days split is not shown on the Supply or Waste screens. No - they are on the Bill screen.
Water Meter Billing Dates What is a Split date? This is the date when the tariffs change. Technically it is the last day of the OLD tariff. The new tariff does not start until the next day. If your supply and waste are billed by different companies, the 2 Split dates are likely to be different.
Water Meter Billing  Dates What is the "Previous" date exactly? This is usually the previous date appearing on your bill. It is either the actual last reading date OR the day after. If the former then it is NOT included on the bill. If the latter then it is included. It is important that the elapsed days agree with your bill. Use the "Inclusive" toggle to correct the number of days billed.
Water Meter Billing  Dates When I change the month the date can change from say 31 to 30, or 1 This is a clever function of the Android date widget. Not all months have 31 days. Therefore when you change the month the day number changes for you. Also February can have 28 or 29 days for a leap year.
Water Meter Billing Dates Why are there 2 Split dates? There are occasions when the tariffs change on different dates. This is usually when 2 different companies are involved. Paid version allows you to fix the 2 dates.
Water Meter Billing General Why are there fields for VAT/SalesTax? Although this is not currently applicable in the UK, it is best to be well prepared. These fields are on the Supply/Waste and Meta screens You can use the Meta screen toggle to remove the fields (if they are zero)
Water Meter Billing General Why are there no dial widgets for the reading inputs It is quicker and easier to use the standard keyboard input. Ensure that the input is registered on the screen.
Water Meter Billing  General Why does the app start up with numbers already there? These numbers are from my local area, where supply and waste are from 2 different companies! Hopefully the numbers give a correct idea of what is required in these fields. Initial dates are set up from today's date and 6 months previously.
Water Meter Billing Meta I can use the toggle buttons and the input fields but nothing happens Get the Paid version! Only options above the green text are available on the free version. Remember to use the HOME button to exit the app, otherwise your inputs may go.
Water Meter Billing  Supply There is a valid Split date but the volume figure is not split. Whereas it is split on the Waste screen. The volume figure is left un-split on the Supply screen. Look at the Bill screen to see the actual split. The Waste volume is not left un-split because it is based on the Supply volume. The Bill screen shows split and un-split volumes.
Water Meter Billing  Toggle buttons Why do some Toggle Buttons illuminate when pressed and others not? The toggling action is sometimes decided for you. This decision is reflected by the illumination. The "Inclusive" billing toggle, is an example of a totally user controlled switch. It illuminates when pressed, then subsequently goes out. The Split Date toggle, is an example of app controlled illumination. It is illuminated only when the date is valid. However you can still toggle the view of this date.
Water Meter Billing  Waste My bill does not have a figure for Supply to Waste % Lucky you - this should mean that there is no conversion involved for the Waste bill. Change the figure to 100(%) Ensure that the Conversion figure is not hidden somewhere else. Companies are not very forthcoming with all the required data!
Water Meter Billing  Waste My bill only has 1 Standing charge, whereas there are 3 on the screen Lucky you - change the 2 (or 4) extra standing charges to 0.0. Subsequently ignore the headings Surface/Highway. It is a bit over the top.
