Disassembly

The project begins

The boys (and I) couldn't wait to get started. Inside of a week we had the body pulled and the frame stripped down to the last nut and bolt.

We didn't spend a lot of time labeling items as they came off the chassis because the plan was to build it back to as new anyway. In retrospect, that was a mistake because even if a part wasn't going to be re-used it could still be used as a reference for reassembly. In the picture above, right, my son was certain the weight of the engine was too much for the basketball backboard. Little did he know I designed it to survive years of slam dunks.
