Beeswax - part of the rich harvest of the hive - is an entirely natural product that bees make from honey. For centuries it has been prized for making fine candles and preserving the rich shine on treasured furniture. But there is more to it than that. It can be coloured, modelled and one can even paint with it. This guide shows readers how to: fill a home with the natural scent of waxwork candles; model delicate wax flowers and scuptures; produce wax pictures using the encaustic painting method; and make wax crayons, furniture polish, soap and face cream.

Short on time today, so making use of the setup I was using for another project, to have another take on this candle under different lighting. It does make an interesting comparison and I think, makes yesterdays shot, taken with the pop-up flash, look even better :) Certainly the colours were brighter, though I prefer the background here. This was taken using a setup I use to take quick product shots, minimal setup time and normally requires very little processing to produce the finished image. See below for how simple it is.
