Today the Wizard of Oz himself tied the knot for this metal couple! The tin woodsman found his bride, and heart, as did she! Arm in arm they are skipping down the yellow brick road, two brightly polished, silver robots in a fantasy realm without a care in the world. He has on a big smile (as does she) and a bow tie, her short dress great for the forest, and both wear a big red, ruby like gem heart hanging from their necks for everyone to see, as it should be... Note that they are made just about 100% from wood ... giving them a neat look and feel, an ironic touch of rusticness coupled with a surprising amount of detail and sophistication. Also note the road base is etched / carved for bricks (they're not just painted on!). Measurements (approx.): 5" high (for the tin man himself, add about 1/2" for the base), 3" wide, 1 1/2" deep and the round base is about 4" in diameter. And yes! These are indeed light enough for pretty much any cake out there. Made of Wood! I build a lot of different things like ray guns, robots, rocket ships, flying saucers, other machines, wedding cake toppers, creatures, tech, telescopes and more in many different formats from full size prop replicas to miniatures, Christmas ornaments, jewelry, pendants, etc ... see my main site found through my profile which has many more photos and information. I do a lot of classic looks, but am expanding into more modern and a lot of steampunk, too!

hummingbird project I done
i embroidered some facts about hummingbirds on it and now it is done! (the fabric is Globalweave textiles from Purl Soho and already had the tree embroidery). here are the facts: The nests are hard to find, being about as round as a silver dollar and looking like a warty growth on a branch. They are built of very small twigs, lichen and other mosses, often lined with downy feathers or animal hair and bound together with spider silk. The cup, carefully smoothed and rounded by the breast of the tiny female, holds two white bluntly elliptical eggs. C. anna breeds in western North America, in chaparral near open woodland, and urban and suburban gardens. A group of hummingbirds has many collective nouns, including a bouquet, glittering, hover, shimmer and tune. The hummingbird’s tiny brain, 4.2% of its body weight, is proportionately the largest in the bird kingdom. C. anna’s food consists of nectar, sugar water and insects. In addition they regularly, particularly in the winter, glean spiders from nooks and crannies. 19 days old Class: Aves Order: Apodiformes Family: Trochilidae Genus: Calypte Species: C. anna Common name: Anna’s Hummingbird Length: 9 - 10 cm (3.54 - 3.94 in) Wingspan: 114 – 121 mm (4.49 – 4.76 in) Weight: 3 - 6 g (.11 – .21 oz)
