Up for sale, we have a beautiful authentic morgan silver dollar! 1881 S Morgan Silver Dollar SGS Certified. This coin is Guaranteed to be Authentic! 1881-S The 1881-S dollar is probably the highest quality coin in the entire Morgan series. It may have been for this reason that Redfield purchased a large quantity of 1881-S coins. When his death occurred in 1974, this huge private cache was discovered by the public at large. It contained many scarce S and CC mint dollars. Strike quality is one of the three key visual characteristics to check for in grading a coin. The strike found on the 1881-S date is very bold with all design details standing out distinctly. The luster of most of the coins bearing this date is outstanding. Its brilliance is evident by holding an example under a light and tilting the piece to observe the strong "cartwheel" effect as the light plays across the surface. The issue was also fortunate enough to be impaired by very few bagmarks. This is an extremely high quality issue, and most examples display the above characteristics vividly. This coin is relatively inexpensive and should be bought by every serious Morgan dollar collector as an example of superior strike quality, superior luster, and minimal abrasions. Do not be too disappointed if every other Morgan dollar in your collection pales by comparison.(Information contained above is from James B. Osbon's "Silver Dollar Encyclopedia 2nd Edition") Morgan Dollars are a favorite of collectors everywhere. Authorized by the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, the dollars were designed by George T. They were made from 1878 to 1921, when the Peace dollar was adopted. Your coin comes inside a sealed, hard plastic case with a unique serial number!
