    New Advancement Requirements for 2016
Effective January 1, 2016, BSA has changed the advancement requirements for all ranks. New books with the requirements should be available soon, but until then links to the new requirements are shown below.

The impacts of the new requirements are:
    • If a youth is currently in the process of completing a rank and has completed a substantial portion of the requirements, he may complete the rank using the 2015 requirements. When he begins on a new rank or if he has just begun a new rank (within the past month or so) , he will use the new ranks shown in the link above.
    • It is important for each scout to keep their current handbook intact as a record of completion up to the new requirements. They should also plan to get a copy of the new book when it becomes available to use for future advancement.
    • Most of the requirements have not changed significantly, but there are some new details and approaches that we will be following. All of these are in the document above.
    • If you have questions, please ask one of the adult leaders for clarification.
