January Camp Out
In January the plan is to leave at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 17 and drive to Kings Mountain National Historic Battlefield. The boys have 2 options - 1 night or 2 nights. The one night is a 4 mile backpack trip out and back.  They should be back on Sunday by 1:00 or so. The two nighter will continue to hike to a campsite in the South Carolina Kings Mountain State Park and spend the night there. On Monday, this group will continue back to the vehicles and be home by about 1:00 on Monday.  The two night option is a 16 mile total trip. All scouts need to plan for their own food and gear. Sharing tents and any other equipment is encouraged. The weather looks great, so come out and go camping.

December Camp Out
What can I say - it rained - and during the night the temperature dropped to 25 degrees and the rain drops still on our tents froze. But we had a good time, hiked up the mountain for a view of a beautiful rainbow, and survived the wet.  It's not often you head for bed at 6:30 P.M. and don't get up until 7:00 or 7:30, but that's how we stayed warm and dry Saturday night!
The morning after the rain, 2014
And for contrast, 2011 with snow
And 2010 when it really snowed.
It's all about the adventure!

Scouting for Food
On Saturday, November 22, the troop collected 812 pounds of food for the Mooresville Soup Kitchen.
Good Job!
Thank you to all of the boys and adult leaders who showed up to walk the streets of Mooresville and provide this critical service to our community.  By the way, the collection goal was 9000 pounds.  Our troop really stepped up to help them meet that goal!
