These are images from the Architectural Analysis done on the property by a architectural historian. Verbatim: This 1920 English Tudor Revival apartment building stands near the corner of XXX and XXX in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. The wood shingle design characterizes typical features of the Tudor residential style, popular in American neighborhoods between 1890 and 1940. The steeply-pitched roof with prominent front and cross gables and the pronounced rounded arch entryway evoke the romantic imagery of a 16th century English manor house. The rounded-arch theme is echoed in the window that opens onto the porch and in the circular attic vent and this motif is repeated again in the interior of the first floor apartment. A broad arch separates the living from the dining room and a picturesque set of shelves tucked into the wall of the hallway is also framed with a small scale arch. In the first floor apartment, the character of the medieval manor is continued with the golden ceramic tile fireplace and with the iron wall sconces. One could imagine replacing the electric tapered light bulbs with more atmospheric tapered candles. If you look close at the fireplace tiles, you will see that several have landscape scenes carved in relief on their surface. An iron ring chandelier with ornate curly-queues hangs from the dining room ceiling. The apartments still maintain their original 1920s hardwood floors and inset panel doors. Even the original wood molding still frames most of the doors, windows and baseboards. Cut-glass door knobs and hexagonal tile in bathroom complete the chronological dating of the building. The kitchen was remodeled a few decades ago and adds another point of historical interest. The kitchen has black and white checkered linoleum tile and a vintage treasure, a Kenmore twin-oven gas stove, circa 1950. The stove is in good condition with its original V-shaped plastic temperature knobs, a cooking time-keeper, and pink aluminum and plastic trim.
